I am considering installing a tranny cooler in my 71.  where is the best place to mount it and does the cooler come with plugs for the old lines on my radiator.  or do i have to buy these seperatly.

1.  For mounting, I used the "included in the kit" zip-tie deals, and fastened it directly to the radiator.

2.  When I had mine, I fabbed up two shorter lines, and just used a higher quality rubber fuel line to tie it all right back into the factory radiator transmission cooler.

In a while, Chet.

You can buy rubber tranny cooler lines at NAPA.They have a higher burst rate .I had a problem once years ago using rubber fuel line it made a real mess.

When you buy the Trans Cooler it should come with Hi-Temp and Pressure 5/16' Line . They also come with what Looks Like Wire Ties that you can Mount it Right to the Radiator . I have installed a Few Trans Coolers but never in a Monte Carlo for say . But I don't Like to mount any Trans Cooler Right onto the Radiator . I use Strap Iron or make a Bracket off the Radiator Support . I Leave about a 4-5" Gap away from the Radiator and run the Lines only to the Trans Cooler not though the Radiator . This way has always worked well for me . I will be installing a Cooler on my 1983 Monte Carlo soon . Also a Trans Fluid Flush with install of Ford Type-F Fluid will also be an improvement of your TH trans .

Ford type F transmission fluid in a  Chevy transmission?  That's just wrong......evileyebiggrin (I'm just joking here....)

Really, I didn't know you could do that after a good healthy flush of the trans.  Learned my new thing for the day kinda late I guess.

LOL! I was told by a trans builder, B&M Trick Shift is type F just has a greenish-blue dye to it. I run it in my 86 with the 200R4 and it hasn't given me any issues
