I had those storage boxes set up all over the place before. 1 on the bench in the basement, one on the wall under the TV in the garage, 4 on the exact opposite corner of the garage, it was a mess trying to see what I had. Works so much better now, but it still can be too far apart at times. Getting organized is a real pain sometimes.
One thing I did do to help with keeping it a bit cleaner is I mounted the two organizers to the left of the drill press on a hinged slab of 3/4" plywood. I use a cupped wire brush in the drill press, then I clean bolts/nuts without worrying about all the debris getting into the organizers. Pretty neat thinking, ehh?
Those are a couple of nice well-organized looking work areas! (HR.com thumb up icon) Important to be organized.
Growing up on a hobby farm, I would watch my dad work on stuff in the shop. Although a resourceful man, he wasn't the most organized fella. (Heck, neither was I for years.) Back then, I thought that when you needed a tool, it was normal to look for it for five minutes. I never really thought more about this until I was 20 and got a job sanding cars in an auto body shop and I got my own toolbox. The idea of keeping a tool in its place so you can find it when you need it seemes absurdly simple, but it was honestly an epiphany for me. What a concept.
Well it's been a few years since that first job. In 2000, my friend and I built a garage at my old place. It was a nice shop where I got a lot of work done and I did keep it well organized. Two and a half years ago I moved and had to leave my shop behind. No shop at my new place. Just a small attached garage where it would be cramped even working on a Chevette. But the toolbox is there. I'm finally getting my compressor connected next week. First time I'll get to do some work since the move. I'll post pics soon.

For those of you waiting for some pictures, just a quick update. Gonna have to wait until spring cleaning. My tools may be in order, but all the other junk isn't
Won't be long. Maybe the weekend. Weather's finally somewhat decent up here.

Spring cleaning is in full swing around here, but now my work areas are getting swamped while I try to find good places to stash my junk, err treasures.......
Nothing fancy? Maybe not, but it sure looks functional. I like your sign "No help wanted". I need to print something like that up for mine. How well do like that long-chassis floor jack? I've debated replacing both of mine with one, but it looks a bit long (for floor storage) for a smaller shop.
I have 2 floor jacks........That long one, that I bought at Princess Auto (like Harbor Freight) for $199 a few years ago.....It will jack a car up about 30", which is great sometimes. I also have a Walker jack that I have had for 35 years, paid $300 way back then....good jack....It shows you how prices have come down on this stuff....but doubt the big jack will last 30 years......lol
Nice shop Poncho. Some good room to work. I like your Ford lawn tractor. What year is that?
As for the uninsulated walls, either you are as brave as any Winnipegger or there is something about the southern Ontario winter I need to experience firsthand.
BTW I've said it to you long time ago when I joined HR, but that is one sweet truck you've got. I always liked these older Ford and Mercury models. Was one of my faves even as a kid. Here's the Hotwheels I had, but lost a long time ago
Edit: Oohh, wait, I think I spotted a CT70 under one of those shelves there. Cool!

A quick 360 look at my garage. This was taken during the winter with only a snowmobile inside.
Sweet shop Mark! There was a point in time where I'd have lived in that. Aww heck, I'd still live there. So where's the Monte if it's not there? Didn't sell it or trade it for a Ford, did you????
How big were your birds? I shot one going on 2 years ago that went 27 lbs and a 9 1/2" beard. That was cool...
I live on a small farm, so during winter months cars get moved to other sheds.
The birds were shot in Missouri a few years back and were 24 and 25 pounds. I was hunting with a friend when the first came up behind a woven wire fence at 30 yards. I shot it and ran up to make sure he was dead. It takes off running down a hill so I pop him again. Come to find out, the first lay dead by the fence, and the second one came up ti fight the dead bird. Ended up getting them both. Friend tagged the second bird I tagged first.
